this alien thought is was funny when wired magazine wrote that an asteroid "will almost hit earth", as it buzzes by "just 18,300 miles" away. 18,300 miles? does that even register?

but then he saw the animated rendering of what it would look like, from the asteroid's POV...yikes, that IS close!
