having seen the movie, a single man:
- he lives remarkably well
- for a professor at a college that gets no respect from his associates
- a drawerful of pressed and packaged dress shirts
- the mercedes with woodframe interior
- custom-built home in a coastal california community (though his BF was the architect, presumably)
- the impracticality of that wright-esque house
- all those windows to clean
- keeping dog hair out of rock gardens is a horror
- the windows appear to be just panes of glass that slide back and forth; california coastal weather is nice and all, but still, it does get cold and wet.
