i'm surprised: i really liked tim burton's
alice in wonderland. i often come away from a tim burton movie admiring the concept, but being disappointed by the actual execution. (major exception:
big fish, for which i didn't care for either the concept nor the execution.)
alice, though, seemed perfectly pulled off in so many ways: imagery was really well carried out; characters exactly matched what one would hope; and the story never seemed to wander off-path.
surprisingly focused. i really liked it.
